James 1:12 says, "Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him."

In many areas of our life we have to face unwelcoming realities which may lead to questions asking “why?” and “what now?”. These unwanted realities could be anything. You could be in a place you never expected or never wanted to be in. You could’ve been betrayed by someone you trusted. Or even considering the prevailing situation, you maybe facing a difficult time. It could be an unanswered prayer. This is when we should know that God never leaves us in a place where grace cannot sustain us. We live in a world that won’t always go the way we expect it to go.

One such example from the bible was Job. His entire world collapsed. He lost his family, property, and health. In fact his wife urged him to curse God and die. Job was clueless and didn’t know Satan had challenged his integrity in the court of heaven and he goes on to asking, in Job 6:11 “What strength do I have, that I should still hope? What prospects, that I should be patient?” but in the end, Jobs response to all his suffering was to be patient and trust in the lord. Just like Job, we too have to face trials that may bring us down, that’s okay and God understands. The life of Job teaches us be patient and wait on the Lord because if we trust in God’s enduring love in Jesus Christ as our faithful companion, teacher and guide and rely on the holy spirit, we will have what we need to face any challenge. Is God making you wait today? yes it maybe hard or even frustrating. Ask God to give you the strength and patience in order to receive that promised crown of life because the end result of our patient endurance is the hope of heaven and that’s something worth waiting for.
