Bring things to light

“But all things are exposed when they are revealed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:13‬

When we see the darkness in ourselves, it is a sign that the light of God is shining in us. Just as a bright light shining in a room that has been locked up in darkness will reveal the cobwebs, the dust, the mold, the rats and the cockroaches, so when God’s light shines in us it reveals all the things in us that need to be cleaned up. The closer you get to God, the brighter the light will grow and the more it will expose. So when you are faced with the messed up parts of yourself, don’t cower in the darkness or shut out the light. Remember, if you’re seeing your brokenness clearly it means you’re letting the light do it’s work of making everything light! So don’t be discouraged, let the light of God shine in you and do its work to clear away the cobwebs so that you can live as a child of the light, shining like a star.

Challenge: Actively bring things into the light by sharing them with another child of the light who can share your burdens and help keep you accountable to letting the light shine so you aren’t tempted to hide in the darkness.
